Mark Thiel and Lloyd Biram, both experienced professionals in their own right, decided to merge their individual practices, forming “Biram Thiel & Partners.” The company established its first office in Southport, strategically located at the corners of Nind and Scarborough Street, providing accounting, taxation, and advisory services. It had an initial team of approximately eight staff, including the two founding partners.
A significant milestone was reached when the practice expanded its offerings by acquiring a small financial planning business and a general insurance agency, broadening its service portfolio. By 1998, the practice merged its financial planning services with Wally Fullerton-Smith, strengthening its presence in this sector.
A decade of growth and evolution led to the accounting practice expanding to include four partners. To reflect this transformation and its widening range of services, the firm rebranded itself as “Thiel Partners Pty Ltd.”
This pivotal moment marked the introduction of audit and forensic services. Simultaneously, Thiel sold its interest in the financial planning practice to its co-owner, allowing the core business to concentrate on expanding its accounting services.
Over the years, Thiel Partners experienced several relocations to accommodate its rapid industry growth. These moves took the practice through Bundall and Southport, eventually leading to its current home in modern new offices in the vibrant heart of Surfers Paradise.
